MARION—Last night, officers were sent to a residence in Marion regarding a reported burglary in progress.

The caller advised Dispatch that someone was trying to force entry into the house.

As Officer Rostorfer was arriving in the area, she observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The car was fleeing. Officer Rostorfer notified officers as they were coming into the area.

Officers Kent and Rector quickly located and stopped the vehicle and determined it to be involved. Lt. Elliott responded with his K9, Ranger, who alerted to the vehicle.

A vehicle search resulted in officers locating a gun, methamphetamine, pills, and other paraphernalia items. Through the investigation, it was learned that threats were made during this incident with the gun that had been located.
