Christine M. Toney, 51, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital after an extended illness.
Born October 13, 1971 in Bucyrus, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Gerster) Awbrey.
Chris was proud to work in the healthcare industry as a home healthcare nurse. One of the positions she held gave her the privilege to take care of the child of one of her dearest friends. She had an innate ability to help others in need and had a heart of gold. Chris loved everyone she shared her life with, considering everyone family. A caring and selfless woman, she adored the grandbabies her and Tommy shared together. Having a contagious laughter, she was known as Christopher Robins by her great friend, JT. Her love for the outdoors led her to enjoy her passion in geocaching and gardening. Chris cherished her cats and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns.
She is survived by her sister, Carrie (Bob) Roderick; nieces, Alexandra “Allie” Awbrey and Sydney Roderick; significant other, Tommy Guilliams; and her best friends, Jennifer Bush and Tacsha Ridgeway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (Gerster) Awbrey; her sister, Carrol Merle; and her brother, Eric Awbrey.
