GALION—A Golf Outing is set for Sunday, October 2nd, at Valley View Golf Course in Galion.

The benefit is planned to support Luke Truman, 28, of Galion, as he recovers from a near-deadly truck crash.

Truman works for Ohio Edison. He was returning to Ohio Edison, located in Mansfield when a loaded dump truck swerved and careened off concrete barriers slamming into Truman’s truck hitting him head-on. Truman’s truck was flattened, and the engine was thrown several feet.

Truman, who lost his leg in the crash, is still recovering. Truman still receives therapy in Canton but is grateful to be close to family.

Sadly, the driver of the dump truck was believed to experience a medical emergency and did not survive.

This benefit will help Truman to continue to recover. Raffle donations are still being accepted. Events include:

-9am Shotgun Start
-$100 Team Entry ($100 Person)
-50/50 And Basket Raffle
-Food Provided

All proceeds will go to Luke.
