BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Lady Redmen remained unbeaten on the volleyball season with a 3-0 sweep of Crestline — 25-6, 25-5, 25-18 — on Saturday at Alex Kish Memorial Gymnasium.
Emma Tyrrell led the Redmen with 18 of 19 serving with nine aces. Tyrrell was 19 of 21 hitting with 11 kills.
Macey Williams was 12 of 12 serving with six kills and one solo block. Kelcie Clayton was 21 for 21 serving with seven aces.
Maddie Kimmel went 10 of 12 serving with four aces and one solo block. Addy Ricker added 18 assists.
Bucyrus moves to 4-0 on the year and begins Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Tuesday at Mohawk.
Wynford falls to Shelby
Shelby came to Dr. Michael Johnson Gymnasium and went home with a four set, 3-1, win over Wynford. The Whippets won by scores of 26-24, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20.
The Royals were led by Emma Steiger with 10 kills and 11 digs. Clareese Prenger had 17 assists and Zoe Whitmeyer had 12.
Reese McGuire had 15 digs and seven kills, Aleece Filliater had four kills and Katelyn Wagner added three digs and three kills.
In the junior varsity match, Wynford went down in three sets, 26-24, 23-25, 22-25.
The Royals are now 1-2 on the season and begin N10 play versus Upper Sandusky on Tuesday.
Mohawk wins two in tri-match
Mohawk hosted Western Reserve and Milan Edison in a tri-match and came away with a pair of 2-0 victories.
The Warriors defeated Western Reserve, 25-15, 25-18 and got past Edison, 25-12, 25-22.
Emily Klopp had 12 kills and two blocks against Western Reserve and 13 kills and three blocks versus Edison. Caitlyn Ogg had seven assists and two aces against the Riders and eight assists and one ace against the Chargers.
Mohawk won both jayvee matches as well, 25-7, 25-16 over Western Reserve and 25-13, 25-10 over Edison.
The Warriors are now 3-0 and host Bucyrus Tuesday to open N10 play.
