The list of Crestline Village Council members who have resigned is getting longer. First-term council member Ryan Mahek resigned at Monday’s council meeting which brings the number of council members who have resigned within the past year to three.

Stacey Wampler resigned in October and was replaced by Gene Toy. Kevin Taylor resigned in December and council is currently going through the process of finding his replacement. Only one person has applied and today is the deadline to submit an application.

Mahek’s resignation is effective Jan. 31 and council must name his replacement within 30 days of that date.

Monday’s council meeting also included allegations of selective law enforcement by the Crestline Police Department. Council member Clayton Herold reported the village general fund ended 2014 with a $65,000 deficit.
