Pat Johnston, 81, of Galion passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Avita Galion Hospital.
She was born March 3, 1941 in Warren, Arkansas and was the daughter of Doyle and Johnie (Castleberry) Coats. Pat married Richard D. “Dick” Johnston on October 21, 1961 and he preceded her in death after 50 years of marriage on November 24, 2011.
She graduated from Galion High School in 1959 and worked many years and retired from the City of Galion in the Utilities Department. Pat was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galion. She enjoyed traveling to Amish Country and Lake Erie with her husband and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
Pat is survived by daughters, Tracie (Bob) Wittibslager and Kelly Johnston all of Galion; son, Joe (Sandy) Johnston of Gulfport, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Miranda (Gabe) Monk, Abbie (Chad) Phelps, Megan (Brian) Campbell, Skylar (Griffin Kinney) Henwood and Alex (Jonathon) Finley; six great-grandchildren, Adyson Monk, Seth Monk, Liam Campbell, Nora Campbell, Lily Campbell and Haley Phelps; a great great-grandchild, Olivia Carroll and one on the way, Tatum Campbell and two sisters, Mary Heminger and Paulette Hankins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-father, Paul Green, who raised her since nine years old; sister, Carol Shrader and three brothers, Merlyn, Bill and Bobby Coats.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 22 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
