Marilyn J. Neikirk, 82, of North Augusta, SC, entered into rest on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Mrs. Neikirk was born and raised in North Robinson, OH. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1962 and afterward married the love of her life, Charles Freeman Neikirk. They initially lived in Lanham, Maryland and eventually settled in Eastern Virginia. Charles and Marilyn moved to North Augusta, SC in 2020.
Mrs. Neikirk worked as an elementary school teacher in Maryland and as an aid at the Peninsula Montessori School in Newport News, VA. She enjoyed golfing, boating, and traveling with her husband. She was a member of Norfolk Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA.
Survivors include two sons, Kipp Neikirk and David (Tracey) Neikirk; three grandchildren, Sophia Neikirk (Garrett) Collins, Charles L. Neikirk, and Alexandra Neikirk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Layton Bogan and Lois Crissinger Bogan; her sister, Joyce Bogan Kuehne, and her husband of 58 years, Charles “Chuck” Freeman Neikirk.
A memorial service for both she and her husband will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery, 835 Kaler Ave., Bucyrus, Ohio with Pastor Gary Schiefer officiating.
