Edward S. Wilson, Sr., 84, of Galion passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

He was born September 10, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of Paul R. and Myrtle M. (Finley) Wilson. Edward married Nancy L. (Foote) Wilson on June 25, 1961 and she preceded him in death after 60 years on September 1, 2021.

He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1956 and he attended Miami University in Ohio. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as an accountant at the C.I. T. Financial in Mansfield from 1963 to 1972, then he worked for the former North Electric from 1972 to 1982 first in Galion and then in Tennessee and retired from N.N. Ball and Roller in Erwin, Tennessee where he worked from 1983 to 2000.

Edward was a member of the Elks Lodge 1191, Galion, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 of Galion and the Loyal Order of Moose 303 of Galion.

He is survived by a son, Edward S. (Lisa) Wilson of Knoxville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Holly (Cody) Russell and Hannah (Joseph) Lopez, and two great grandchildren, August Lopez and Milah Russell.

In addition to his parents and wife Nancy, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Hauck and Evelyn Schmidt, and his brother John Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. after calling hours on Tuesday, June 9. with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating. Private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.

Full Military honors will conducted by the United States Air Force
