The final meeting of 2014 for the Bucyrus Area Safety Council will focus on safe driving and be held Dec. 11 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital.

The commander of the Bucyrus Area Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lt. Michael Vinson, will be the guest speaker. His presentation will be “Safe Driving Off and On the Job.”

As a special project to make many Christmases brighter, the Bucyrus Safety Council is collecting boxed and canned goods for the Salvation Army. The Red Kettle coin and bill collection will be at the meeting to help make the season brighter for those in need. The public is welcome to join this project.

Eighty-seven local companies are currently participating in this program. Membership is open to all area residents and businesses. New for this 2014-2015 year a 4-percent rebate is available for active Safety Council participation and now 2-percent rebates are available for group-rated companies.

The Bucyrus Safety Council is effort by the Ohio
Bureau of Workman’s Compensation and the Bucyrus Chamber of Commerce providing local safety training to businesses, industries and municipalities.
