MARION—On Sunday at 4:58 PM, the Marion Combined Dispatch Center received a report of a domestic-related shooting in the 600 Block of Sugar Street. Officers arrived on scene two minutes later, locating two people in the front yard of the residence who were injured from apparent gunshot injuries. Katlyn Cole, age 24 of Marion was transported to Marion General Hospital and later died from injuries sustained in the assault. Seth Nead, age 36 of Marion was transported to Marion General Hospital and later flown by Med-Flight to a Columbus area hospital. He later died from his injuries.
Numerous residents in the neighborhood were outside when this incident occurred and while the investigation is ongoing, preliminary information indicates that the male subject shot the female and then turned the gun on himself.
