SHELBY — The Galion boys’ tennis team defeated Shelby 3-2 Tuesday afternoon.

In first singles, the Tigers’ Matt Gimbel defeated Jacob Williams, 6-1, 6-2. Jamie Hollis dropped the Whippets’ Ty Keinath in second singles, 6-4, 0-6, 6- 3. Galion’s Nick McMullen fell to Jared Billheimer, 2-6, 5-7, in third singles.

In first doubles, Jaxon Oehler and Nate Barre got by Ty Cox and Joe Williams, 7-5, 6-7 (tie 5-7), 6-2 for the Tigers’ third point. Adam Geiger and Caden Jutz lost, 1-6, 4-6, to Toney Roub and Bryson Baker.

Galion moves to 2-1 on the year, overall and in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference. Shelby falls to 2-2 on the season, 1-2 in the MOAC.
