NORTH ROBINSON — One of north central Ohio’s most successful football coaches has resigned.
Colonel Crawford head coach Ryan Teglovic said Tuesday morning he was stepping down after 14 seasons leading the Eagles.
Taking over the program prior to the 2008 season, Teglovic led the school to a 93-53 record and took the team to the playoffs for the first time in 2012, the first of six playoff appearances.
The team posted 10 wins in 2015 and 2021. His teams only had two losing seasons, going 2-8 in 2008 and 4-6 in 2019. Colonel Crawford won the Northern 10 Athletic Conference title in 2020 and finished as runner-up last season.
In 2021, the Eagles finished with a 10-2 overall mark, 6-1 in the conference. The lone N10 loss was to eventual Division VI state champion Carey.
They fell in the Division VI Region 22 quarterfinals to Ashland Crestview, 28-14. His son, Nick, played for him.
On Jan. 18, 2021, Teglovic was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and he has been fighting the disease while coaching and maintaining his duties as a guidance counselor.
Teglovic formerly coached and taught at South Central High School in Greenwich, his high school alma mater.
He graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he was a member of the 1995 NCCAA championship baseball team. Teglovic received his Master of Educational Administration from Ashland University.
