A familiar face can be seen in the director’s office of the Bucyrus Public Library as the Board of Trustees named Brenda Crider to the director’s position.
Crider, a life-long resident of Crawford County has been with the Bucyrus Public Library since 1987. She has served in a variety of capacities beginning as a page and circulation desk aide. In 1989 she assisted with technical services and processing and in 1991 took on the newly created role of Community Relations Coordinator. In 2014, Crider became Assistant Director of the library. She has also served as Interim Director during the searches to replace past directors James Wilkins and Matthew Ross. Crider is a graduate of Wynford High School and Ohio University where she received her Bachelor of Journalism degree with a major in Public Relations.
Upon accepting the director’s position at Bucyrus Public Library, Crider said, “I am honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to continuing working with the staff to make the Bucyrus Public Library the best that it can be and a place the entire community will strive to visit and use often.”
Crider currently resides in rural Crawford County. She has three grown children and when not at the library enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and being involved in the community. She replaces past director Matthew Ross, who recently left Bucyrus to become Director of the Tiffin-Seneca County Public Library. She began her duties on November 3.
