Betty Joan Seckel, 89, of Galion passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion where she had resided the past year and a half.
Born June 18, 1932 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Johanna (Bollerer) Cass. She married Walter H. Seckel on April 18, 1953 and they enjoyed 68 years together.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1950 and a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Betty was a lifetime Galion resident and a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed flower arranging and crafting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son Richard (Cheri) Seckel of Galion; daughter Carol (Doug) Heiser of Rapid City, South Dakota; grandchildren Eric Seckel, Brian (Jenna) Seckel, Scott (Laramie) Heiser and Kelly (Josh) Thayer and great grandchildren Grace, Dylan, Emily, Blaine, Hayden, Hudson, Kylah, Tyson and Carter.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 Father Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
