A large crowd of enthusiastic spectators showed up early Monday morning for the annual Crawford County Fair Hog Show. 4-H participants lined up their respective hogs for competition in the categories of carcass on foot, jackpot, showmanship, and skillathon.

In the Carcass section, Lori Millenbaugh was named reserve grand champion, and Monica McKinnis was named grand champion. In the Jackpot division, Jessica Millenbaugh was given the reserve title and Alan Leonhardt earned grand champion.

When asked about his experience, Leonhardt said that it was a lot of work, but that it was fun to win.

“At the fair I kept my pig cool and cleaned her off,” Leonhardt said. “It feels good. It’s fun to win.”

The competition continued with showmanship. In the senior category, Jessica Millenbaugh won reserve and Adam Widman took the title of grand champion. In the intermediate, the reserve champ was Taylor Niese and the grand champion was Jenna Siegel. Finally, in the junior section, James Schiefer won reserve and Allison Scott took the grand champion title. Scott even went on to win the skillathon competition.
