Alva “Larry” Saunders, Sr, 84, of Galion passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his residence.
Born January 13, 1938 in Marion, he was the son of Dale and Faye (Reeble) Saunders
He retired from GM, and previously was a barber in Galion. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. He was very handy and could fix anything. Larry especially loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Shirley of Galion; children, Larry (Sheryl) Saunders, Jr. of Galion, Pamela (Jerry) Pangborn of Galion, Kevin Saunders of Galion, Jeff Saunders of Galion, Judy Saunders of Columbus and Jody Saunders of South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Dean Saunders; grandson Nicolas Saunders and two siblings
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10 with Rev. Jeff Pennington officiating.
