BUCYRUS—An attempted traffic stop conducted by the Bucyrus City Police on Wednesday resulted in a drug bust and weapon seizure.
The suspect, a 26-year-old unidentified man from Norwalk, refused to stop for police when he was prompted to do so in the area of Orra St. In Bucyrus. After a brief pursuit, the suspect was ordered out of the vehicle. He struggled with the police and attempted to take an officer’s service weapon. A short foot pursuit ended with the suspect being taken into custody.
Officers seized drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol from the vehicle.
The suspect was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center, where he remains in custody pending formal charges.
