Freddie Huntsman, 82, of Galion passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Avita Galion Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1939 in Bloomville, Ohio and was the son of Fred Albert and Bertha Pauline (Stockdale) Huntsman. Freddie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pamela (Kennedy) Huntsman.
He graduated from Republic High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Freddie owned Huntsman Trucking in Galion, buying his first truck in 1968 and starting Huntsman Trucking in 1974. Previous to buying his first truck, he owned a gas station in Mansfield.
Freddie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Galion, NRA, Whitetails Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid gambler and enjoyed going out to eat, going on cruises, vacationing to Aruba and camping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott (Cora) Huntsman of Galion; his daughter, Holly Huntsman of Lexington; three grandchildren, Tanner, Brooke and Madison Huntsman; sister Gladyne Musser of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Margaret Kennedy of Galion and his best friend, Lee “Little Lee” Campo of Edison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Berdela Grims, Delores Jenkins, Edith Ohler, Sarah Terrant and Esther Wiparina and his father-in-law, Roland “Pete” Kennedy.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24 with Rev. Heather McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Kidney Fund in care of the funeral home.
