BUCYRUS—Vicki Dishon, a familiar face at not only city council meetings but in civil court proceedings, filed an injunctive lawsuit against the 2020-2021 Bucyrus City Council.
The details of the lawsuit that was filed last Friday are not available to the public until all parties named in the suit have been served.
Dishon is a regular attendee of council meetings and often spends several minutes each meeting making corrections to minutes and legislation concerns.
An Injunctive lawsuit, also known as “equitable relief,” is a legal remedy that can be sought in a civil lawsuit in addition to, or in place of, monetary damages. In appropriate cases, injunctive relief can be sought at trial in addition to money damages.
It is not yet known if Dishon will seek monetary damages.
Dishon was paid over $20,000.00 for a lawsuit she filed in 2014 and $2,700.00 for a 2004 lawsuit she settled out of court.
Crawford Count Now reached out to Interim Law Director Brian Gernert for his reaction to this development: “I cannot comment on pending litigation.” Gernert said.
Crawford County Now will continue to follow developments regarding this lawsuit.
