Claudia Thompson, 77, of rural Galion passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Avita Galion Hospital.
She was born May 31, 1944 in Barberton, Ohio and was the daughter of Clarence and June (Solosky) Lego. Claudia married James L. Thompson, Jr. on November 24, 1960 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage until his passing on April 13, 2013.
She formerly attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Galion. Grammy as she was called by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed being on the farm and spending time with her family.
Claudia is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James, III (Anna) Thompson of Galion and Michael L. (Crystal) Thompson of Galion; daughter-in-law, Donna Thompson of Marengo; seven grandchildren, Anglea (Brandon) Hunt, Jamie Thompson, James IV, (Zoe) Thompson, Victoria Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Christopher Thompson and Ashley Sexton; 13 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Irean Richmond, Carol Votah, Norma Hackathorn, Barbara Gibbison, Kathy Castro and Donna Garey and a brother, Ted Lego.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher A. Thompson; sister, Deloris Kelly and a brother, Richard Lego.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 31 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
