MARION—The Third District Court of Appeals recently ruled on the conviction of Lloyd (“Nusto Rambo”) Hinton JR., 28, currently incarcerated at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Mansfield. Hinton is serving a 14-year sentence for attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to the 16-page decision, Hinton entered the back door of the Gotham Bar in July of 2018 while the bouncer was distracted by a fight happening at the front of the bar.

According to testimony by the bouncer, he came up behind Hinton, who he knew by his street name, “ NUTSO RAMBO.” The bouncer said that earlier in the night, he had cleared Hinton with a wand metal detector. Security footage showed that Hinton reentered the bar while the bouncer was distracted. Although the bouncer never saw Hinton’s face, he did recognize him and his clothes on security footage as he entered the bar a second time. The bouncer testified he came up behind Hinton and heard two gunshots being fired.

The victim of the gunshot could not identify Hinton. It was Hinton’s argument on appeal that he was not ever identified as the perpetrator.

The Third District Court Of Appeals said in their ruling that based on the inferences made and no actual eyewitness identification, the jury still made the right decision in finding Hinton guilty of the charges.

His expected release date is August of 2032.
