MARION—Marion County sent a strong message to a Marion man when they sent him to prison last Friday.

Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan announced that Marion County Common Pleas Court Judge W.T. Edwards sentenced Don Etgen to 22-25 1/2 years in prison for rape, pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor, and gross sexual imposition. Etgen pleaded guilty to the charges in September.

According to Grogan, the victims who reported the abuse to their Mother were Etgen’s daughter and stepdaughter.

“The bravery that these two girls demonstrated by coming forward is truly incredible. Their Mother’s support for them through this entire ordeal has been inspiring. One can only imagine what this family has gone through. No one should ever have to endure such a tragedy.” Grogan said.

Grogan thanked the many agencies involved in the prosecution. “Mr. Etgen will have many nights behind bars thanks to their work,” Grogan said.
