Although the Federal Bureau of Investigation is aiding in the search for missing teen Rebecca “Beccy” Kemper, and Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent renewed his plea to the public for information at a Friday news conference, there were no new developments in the case over the weekend.

The sheriff said Monday the search for clues was focused on social media at the moment and second rounds of interviews with people authorities have already spoken to.

“We’re following up on a couple of Facebook things is all,” Kent said when queried about anything new in the investigation. “Right now we’re just visiting and revisiting people.”

The 15-year-old rural Bucyrus girl who lives with her family on Crestline Road just outside of Bucyrus city limits disappeared from home on Sept. 23. Beccy’s mother, Heather Todd, last saw Beccy about 10:30 that evening when she went to bed. Shortly after midnight her step-father, Chris Todd, went to the bathroom and found a bathroom window open which lead to the discovery that Beccy was missing from the home.

The Todds immediately called the Sheriff’s Office. The initial investigation included a search by bloodhounds, but no trace of Beccy was found at the home.

Friday, authorities took a car from the Todd’s home to be processed and two individuals from the home left with FBI agents to be interviewed.

Saturday, a search of a recreational area in Marion turned up no leads or evidence. Beccy was being home-schooled and her family had moved to Crawford County from Marion.

Kent said at his Friday news conference authorities have talked to a male Beccy was in contact with by cell phone prior to her disappearance, but have not developed any further evidence from those interviews. Kent also noted they have not found any indication Beccy was having problems at home.

The FBI’s Todd Wickerham said they have not classified Beccy as a voluntary runaway at this time because of the lack of evidence supporting that conclusion. But neither can they say foul play is involved in her disappearance.

Kent continues to ask that if anyone has any information regarding Beccy’s disappearance or current whereabouts to contact his office at 419-562-7906.
