MARION—Recently, Deputy Sam Staley with K9 Comet and Deputy John Endicott with K9 Viking graduated from The Ohio State Highway Patrol Dual Purpose Narcotic Detector Dog Handler’s Course.

Both K9s and their handlers completed 400 hours of training over the course of 10 weeks. Deputy Staley, Deputy Endicott, and their K9 partners went into service on June 3, 2021, and are certified in Criminal Apprehension, Canine Control, Canine Searches, Tracking, Article Searches, and Narcotic Detection.
