BELLEVUE—For many students, school is back in session, and thanks to combined local efforts, students were sent to school prepared for the 2021-2022 school year.

This year, Firelands Federal Credit Union (Firelands FCU) has successfully contributed a total donation amount of $3,000 to area schools and organizations hosting back-to-school supply collection campaigns. As a result of these combined local efforts, backpacks, notebooks, binders, and much more have been successfully distributed to students in our area.

Monetary donations of $500 have been made to each of the following organizations by their respective Firelands FCU branch:

  • Bellevue – Bellevue Ministerial Association
  • Bucyrus – Bucyrus United Methodist Church, Back to School Supply Carnival
  • Galion – Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission
  • Monroeville – Monroeville Local Schools
  • Norwalk – Project Leadership of Huron County, Stuff the Bus
  • Sandusky – United Way of Erie County, Stuff the Bus

“At Firelands FCU, we look for giving opportunities that drive lasting improvements in the communities we serve; that’s why many of these donations are part of multi-year engagements,” said Brett Montague, Firelands FCU’s President/CEO. “Year after year, we know each of these dedicated groups will be collecting school supplies for area students, and we are proud to offer them our full support. We thank them and our members for their contributions.”
