Sandy L. Redman, age 75, went to be with the Lord at 11:11 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021, at OSU Wexner Medical Center while in Hospice Care. Sandy was born August 9, 1945, in Bucyrus to the late C.J. and Grace (Walton) Fischer. She was married July 2, 1967, to Robert “Bob” Redman who preceded her in death on February 4th of this year. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother in law Roger Long.

Sandy is survived by children Robert “Todd” (Gina) Redman and Lesley (Bob) Hess; grandchildren Kylie Elizabeth Redman, Kelsey Marie Redman, Reese Taylor-Grace Redman, and Riley Grace Hess; sisters Connie Long and Patricia (Robert) Caldwell all of Bucyrus or Galion.

Sandy graduated from Holmes Liberty High School in 1963 and continued her education at the OSU College of Cosmetology. She worked as a beautician and in 1967 helped her husband establish S&R Refuse, Inc. Sandy helped run the business until its sale in the spring of 2020. Sandy was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Sandy was known for her twinkling eyes and beautiful smile. She loved growing up as a “farm girl” in rural Bucyrus. She enjoyed attending sporting events, going to the lake, vacationing in Charleston, playing with her pets, working in her yard, going out to eat, and wearing royal blue. She was very proud of the business and home that she and Bob “built” from the ground up. She was a doting and active parent. She opened her home to so many of her children’s friends over the years serving as a cook, counselor, cheerleader, shoulder to cry on, or a voice of reason. But most of all, she cherished being a Grandma. She loved attending the sporting events of Kylie, Kelsey, Reese, and Riley. She looked forward to lending an open ear to whatever issue they wanted to talk about. They made her so happy and proud. She was a treasure and will be missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the Good Hope Lutheran Church with Vicar Tanyce Addison officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Wynford Lady Royal Basketball Program, the Wynford Academic Boosters, or Good Hope Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com.
