Gary Lewis Busler 69, of Pataskala, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2021, at the OSU Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Gary was born in Galion on October 25, 1951, to Lewis Stanton Busler and Aurelia May (Ness) Busler, who both survive. He married the former Marcia Lynn Burggraf on New Year’s Eve in 1985 at the Iberia United Methodist Church. Together they had a son, Garrett.

Gary was a 1970 graduate of Northmor High School and went on to play baseball at Tiffin University as a left-handed pitcher for two years. He continued his love for baseball as a high school and little league coach, and later as a well-respected baseball and softball umpire for the Marion Baseball/Softball Umpire Association. Gary was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan and classic and muscle car enthusiast. Over the course of his life, he bought and sold 19 Chevrolet Corvettes, including a 1967 blue Stingray he regretted selling.

In addition to his parents, Gary is survived by his wife Marcia of Pataskala, and son, Garrett of New Albany. Also, surviving are two sisters, Peggy (John) Bachelor of Hilliard; Vikki (Jan) Meek of Galion, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service, celebrating Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
