Janette T. Holt, 92, of Galion passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Friday, June 25, 2021.

She was born July 20, 1928, in New Washington and was the daughter of Sylvester and Coletta (Pifher) Studer. Janette married Robert Calvin Holt on January 7, 1950, and he preceded her in death after nearly 70 years of marriage on June 1, 2019.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and worked as a cook at Galion Senior High School for many years from 1971 to the mid-1980s. Janette was dedicated to her family, raising 10 children. She was known for her pies and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening with her husband. Janette and Bob always volunteered at the St. Joseph’s Fish Fries and enjoyed traveling, especially the mystery tours.

Janette was a loving mother to 10 children. She is survived by son, Larry (Norma) Holt of California, Linda Kellogg of Galion, Laura (Richard) Beal of Galion, Lonnie (Atara) Holt of Galion, Lee Holt and Barb of Mansfield, Cal (Renita) Holt of Galion, Rex (Gale) Holt of Galion, Shelley (Todd) Harding of Galion and Dan (Mary) Holt of Manistique, Michigan; loving grandmother to 38 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; six brothers, Clarence (Lucy) Studer, Donnie Studer, Bobby Studer, Vincent (Irma) Studer, Kenny (Marilyn) Studer and Jimmy (Pat) Studer and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Holt; son-in-law Keith Kellogg; grandson, Adam Kellogg; three sisters, Dorothy Metzger, Bernadette Holmer, and Esther Warren and two brothers, Charlie Studer and Norbert Studer.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at St. Joseph Activity Center, 115 North Liberty St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty St. Galion with Father Paul Fahrbach as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in care of the funeral home.
