BUCYRUS— Bucyrus Police Department Lieutenant Amos Wolfe returned victorious after competing in The Ohio Police and Fire Games in Canton on June 14th.

Wolfe competed in two categories.

He won a Gold medal in the Bulls-Eye Pistol Competition and a  Bronze medal in the Police Pistol Competition. Wolfe has brought home the Gold each year since he began competing five years ago. The events were held at the training facility range of the Alliance Police Department.

Wolfe said he looks forward to the competitions each year because it’s a chance for him to compare his skills with others and network with police and fire professionals who come from all across the country to compete.

Lt. Wolfe joined the Bucyrus Police Department in 2009 and serves as a Lieutenant on the second shift. Wolfe is also the handler for the Bucyrus Police Department Canine Officer Ellie, who is now nearly two years old. Wolfe resides in Crawford County with his wife and four children.

The Ohio Police and Fire Games is an annual event held in different locations around Ohio during the second week of June. The games were canceled last year due to the pandemic. The games have been held in various forms since 1977.
