Oscar Howard, age 79, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

He was born on March 24, 1942, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to Hassel and Lulie Howard, who preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ramona Howard.

Oscar is also survived by his 3 daughters, Robin Howard-Tuttle, Ronda Jones-Toye, and Julie (Curtis) Strayer.  8 grandchildren: Krista (Mike) Rumbarger, Sydney Jones, Jacob Greilich, Dalton (Teal) Tuttle, Ellie (Justin) Stoneburner, Katie Greilich, Jarod Tuttle, and Gavin Howard.  9 great-grandchildren: Edwin and Olivia Jones Albrittain, Oskar Tuttle, Bryson, Claire, and Blane Stoneburner, and Hannah, Hallie and Trenton Rumbarger.

He is survived by his brothers, Hollie, Ed, Russell, and Hager Howard.  Sisters, Mahalie Moore and Bonnie Hall, and a brother-in-law James LeMasters, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved granddaughter Sarah Renee Troiano, a brother Jesse Howard, and sisters, Reva Sansom, Risby Howard, Leatha Wilson, Barbara LeMasters.

Oscar was a former fireman with the Nevada Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Wyandot County Coon Hunters Association, and a former member of the Nevada Pythian organization.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching wildlife.  Oscar was a championship Coonhunter and he loved to be outdoors.

His greatest love was his family, and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Oscar Howard will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating.  Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Friday, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
