ATTICA– Not-for-profit North Central Electric Cooperative (NCE) is currently conducting a Rural Broadband Speed Test open to its members and the general public. Along with three other local area electric cooperatives, NCE is gathering real data on the current offerings, speeds, and availability of internet services in and around the co-ops territories.
As was the case with the need for electricity in rural America in the 1930s, high-speed internet is just as essential to rural communities now. To make a case for grants and other funding to help build out reliable and fast broadband and inform local legislators of this need, we need your help by providing factual information about your current internet offerings and availability.
Residents are asked to participate if they live in or around the NCE territory (Crawford, Hancock, Huron, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Wood, and Wyandot counties), LMRE territory, (Ashland, Huron, Lorain, Medina, and Wayne counties), Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative territory (Henry, Wood, Sandusky, Seneca, Putnam, Hancock, Allen, Hardin, and Wyandot counties) and Fireland Electric Cooperative territory (Ashland, Huron, Lorain, and Richland counties).
