Richard J. Gibson, age 94 of Upper Sandusky, died at his home on April 23, 2021. He was born December 3, 1926, in Carey to the late Joseph B. and Eva L (Day) Gibson. He married Cuba Louise (Jones) of Sycamore on September 19, 1958, she preceded him in death on November 16, 2012. He is survived by two sisters Corinne (Al) Newell and Alice Swartz, a brother F. David (Shirley) Gibson, and loving companion Ruth Reier all of Upper Sandusky.
Mr. Gibson was a 1946 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a 1948 graduate of Tiffin University. He worked for the Sinclair Pipe Line Co. in the Marion office for 8 years, then started work with the First Citizens Natl. Bank and retired as Vice President of First Citizens Natl. Bank, Upper Sandusky on December 31, 1991, after 33 years of service. He is a 60+ year member of the First Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky.
He was also a 70+ member of the following organizations and clubs: Masonic Lodge: Blue Lodge #176, Chapter #96, Council #98, Marion. Commandery #36, O.E.S. #366, Aladdin Temple Shrine Club, Col. Oh. Past Vice President of Upper Sandusky Kiwanis Club, Past Vice President (AAA) Club, Past Chr. And Treas. Of Wyandot Co. M.O.D., Past President of Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore. Past member & partial founder of Wyandot Co. Council of Birth Defects, Past member of the Classics and Cruisers Car Club of Upper Sandusky, Past Republican Central Committeeman 50+ years. He was a Real Estate Appraiser (for Wyandot Co. and Private Clients 40+ years) and owned and operated the C & D Storage Co. in Upper Sandusky for 40+ years. Mr. Gibson enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie with his wife, he also enjoyed camping, traveling and working on his golf carts, old cars, and his wheel horse tractors.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Mon. Apr. 26, 2021, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Kathleen Shuck officiating. Visitation will be held Mon. Apr. 26, 2021, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
