Bucyrus Police investigating suspicious death, have talked to people of interest

BUCYRUS—The Bucyrus Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a person in the 200 block of West Mansfield Street.

According to Lt. Tom Walker of the Bucyrus Police Department, a 911 call was received by the department early Thursday morning for a welfare check and the person was found deceased. Portsmouth Ambulance and Crawford County Coroner Chris Johnson assisted at the scene.

Walker said officers have spoken to several witnesses and people of interest.

“This matter is fluid and the investigation is ongoing,” Walker said in a statement to Crawford County Now on Thursday afternoon. “We will release further information at a later date.”
