John E. Kuntz, 92, of Galion passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Oakgrove Manor in Mansfield.

Born July 10, 1928, in Marseilles, Ohio, he was the son of Edward Charles and Vonna Mae (Clark) Kuntz.

He was a 1946 graduate of Pleasant Township High School. John worked as a custodian for the Galion Public Schools first at the Middle School and then Galion High School and retired after 10 years in the early 1980s as the head custodian at North Elementary. He enjoyed woodworking, stamp collecting, photography, gardening, and flowers.

He is survived by daughter, Sherry (John) Schenk of Galion; granddaughter, Pam and great-grandson, Wyatt; half-sisters, JoAnn (Jack) Joy of Bedford, Texas, and Jane Fischer of Bucyrus and half-brother, James Espy of Morral, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Postle of Marion and Juanita Travis of Ashley.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kirby, Ohio.
