Investigators with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office are trying to determine if heavy rainfall may have contributed to a fatal two-vehicle accident. Killed in Monday afternoon’s accident on State Route 309 east of Gelsanliter Road was Betty Davis.

An initial report from the Sheriff’s Office indicates Davis’s vehicle, a Chevrolet Uplander, was westbound when it was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by John Brooks Jr. According to the report Brooks lost control of his vehicle, a Kia Sorrento, and went left of center.

There was no mention of injuries to Brooks or his passenger, Kaylen Brooks, in that report.

Deputies are looking into possible hydroplaning as the cause of the accident.
