BUCYRUS — The first weekend of the 53rd Ladies Invitational Bowling Tournament is complete, with four of the original field of 16 eliminated.

Tournament scoring is handicap based with a 3-game series. On Saturday, Patricia Horsley edged Tacsha Ridgeway, 687-675; Brittany Slagle defeated Konda Entenmann, 759-703; Morgan Swavel beat Carrie Spears, 707-636; and Michelle Sebring slipped by Kathy Watts, 668-654.

Lisa Penwell dropped Joy Steurer, 670-624; Regina Sabo got by Deb Mason, 722-647; Robin Pangallo beat Shelley Kidder, 717-692; and Catrina Parker downed Sharon Jeffries, 715-703.

In Sunday’s winners’ bracket, Slagle beat Parker, 753-714; Swavel defeated Penwell, 740-669; Sebring upended Sabo, 701-619; and Horsley slipped by Pangallo, 656-647.

In the losers’ bracket, Watts topped Mason, 695-686; Jeffries beat Entenmann, 663-627; Kidder got by Ridgeway, 671-578; and Steurer defeated Spears, 726-676.

Mason, Entenmann, Ridgeway, and Spears were eliminated with Sunday’s action.

The tournament continues Tuesday in the losers’ bracket. Kidder will take on Sabo, Steurer faces Parker, Watts meets Pangallo, and Jeffries goes against Penwell.

The losers will drop from the field and the winners will advance to the second weekend on Saturday.
