BUCYRUS— The 3rd annual “Arts for Success” Fundraising Art Auction held online Thursday evening is being deemed as a success, bringing in a whopping $34,440 to benefit area students with scholarships through the Crawford Success Center, part of North Central State College.

“There has never been a year where these donations have been needed more in our Crawford County community”, said Chris Copper, Vice President, Foundation, Government Relations, and Development, at North Central State College. “Students are the true winners at this year’s virtual Arts for Success”.

A special recognition featured John Kennedy receiving the 2021 Arts for Success Leadership award, presented by last year’s winner Tina Husted, wife of Lt Governor John Husted. His grandson, Dane Kennedy spoke on behalf of John and the family to accept the award. A short video helped attendees see the tremendous impact John has made in Bucyrus and the surrounding area.

Dave Bush, Arts for Success Committee member spotlighted the traditions that have already been formed for the event, including Dave wearing his signature tuxedo along with spotlighting the talent in Crawford County. The Fallerius Diamond was the pinnacle piece for the evening and commanded the highest bid amount. The ring belonged to Margaret Fallerius, widow of Dr. Henry Fallerius the 1st NCSC president.

Other notable items include paintings in a variety of mediums, several gift baskets, and a copper kettle corn table, a watercolor class from Sandy Laipply, and a virtual training and speaker by a YouTube Sensation Judson Laipply. Top sponsors for the “Arts for Success” include presenting sponsor, OhioHealth, media sponsor, North Central Ohio Media Group, and broadcast from the Ohio Mutual Studios.
