GALION – On March 2 at 4:22 PM the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call in regards to a two vehicle injury crash on the bridge of SR 598 over US 30. Members of the Galion Fire Department and Deputies responded to the crash and upon their arrival, it was discovered that a red 2019 Volva Semi driven by sixty-six-year-old Paprotskyi Orest from Miami, Florida was involved in a crash with a tan in color 2004 Honda CR-V that was driven by thirty-year-old Brett A. Yingling from Galion.

Yingling was initially transported to the Galion Community Hospital for his injuries and later flown to the Grant Hospital in Columbus for his injuries. Orest was not injured in the crash and Zegar’s Towing removed the Honda from the scene while Ronk’s Towing removed the semi and trailer.

The Galion Police Department was also on the scene the roadway had to be closed down until both vehicles could be removed. Orest was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield and the crash remains under investigation while Yingling’s condition was listed as stable but serious.
