Delores “Jean” Wise, 82, of Galion passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus.
Born September 19, 1938, in Crestline, she was the daughter of Charles and Leona (Simmons) Jacobs. She married Ronald G. Wise on July 6, 1959, and he preceded her on April 13, 2000.
She was a graduate of Galion High School where she played trombone in the marching band. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Galion; where she was a Deacon and a member of the church Women’s Circle. She was a member of T.O.P.S. 1367 in Galion and volunteered at the Cooperative Christian Services of Galion in the food pantry. Jean was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, and OSU football and enjoyed playing the accordion and organ. She was an animal lover, enjoying feeding birds and squirrels, and enjoyed the companionship of her late dog Callie. Jean was a great wife and mother; she was all about her family and church. She touched the lives of many, and many loved her.
She is survived by children Jeffrey (Annette) Wise of Mansfield, Robert D. Wise of Galion, and Laurie (Byron) Haworth of Lebanon; grandson Robert A. (Amanda) Wise of Mansfield; great-grandchildren Kaison Erik Wise, Arabella Wise, Lucas Van Horn, Bailey Van Horn, Brayden Van Horn and Logan Erdman; sisters Mary (Ted) Pfeifer of Galion and Marlene Ruby of Galion; brothers Richard (Marilyn) Jacobs of Galion and Timmy (Ann) Jacobs of Galion; numerous nieces and nephews including Nicole Wise and many special friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson Erik Jeffrey Wise.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
