Martha Ann (Lee) Owsley, 76, of Bucyrus and formerly of Rocky Point, NC, passed to her eternal home on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

She was born five minutes before her twin sister, Mary on April 24, 1944, in Carey, Ohio. Martha was the daughter of the late Russell and Cora (Walter) Lee.  She graduated from Mohawk High School in 1962 and next attended Kentucky Mountain Bible College, graduating in 1965.  She then went to Trevecca University and received her education degree in 1968. Martha earned her master’s degree in 1983 from Northern Kentucky University.

At KMBC, Martha met the love of her life, Larry Owsley. They were married on August 7, 1965, and he survives. God gave them two children, Renee Lynette Owsley (Brad) Chrisman and Jonathan Mark (Christy Peterson) Owsley. They gave her four beautiful grandchildren, Kobe, Trent, Jadon, and Lilah. She is survived by a brother, John (Betty) Lee; sister, Mary Ellen (Mike) Norris and a sister-in-law, Anna Verne Lee. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Art (Donna), Claren (Evelyn), David, and Jim (Marilyn) Lee.

Martha enjoyed playing the piano for the choir, district functions, and church services. She also led the choir, especially for cantatas, if no one else was trained to do it.

Martha was a member of Bucyrus Nazarene Church and one of her loves was shawl ministry, which she was able to do at the church. She taught school for 16 years, part or full-time and her favorite little people were kindergarten and third grade. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, and cooking.

Her family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:45 pm Sunday, February 28 at Bucyrus Nazarene Church, 2165 State Route 4, where her Celebration Service will be held that day at 4:00 pm. She will be inurned in the church columbarium at a later date.

Donations can be made payable to Bucyrus Nazarene Church and will be accepted through Wise Funeral Service or at the church on the day of her services. Memories and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall at www.wisefuneral.com.
