Robert “Bob” Wayne Redman, age 79, went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2021. Bob was born to the late Lester and Betty (Holmes) Redman on June 23, 1941, in Crestline Ohio. Bob married July 2, 1967, to Sandra (Fischer) Redman. Bob is preceded in death by his parents also, father-in-law, C.J. Fischer, and mother-in-law Grace Fischer.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Redman; son, Robert “Todd” (Gina) Redman; daughter, Lesley Ann (Robert) Hess; sister, Bonnie (Ronald) Long of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Kylie Redman, Kelsey Redman, Reese Redman, and Riley Hess.
Bob was a graduate of Chatfield class of 1959. Bob (Bobber) was a great guy, loving husband, doting father, and proud grandpa. He ended most conversations with “Tell the girls I love them.” Even ’til the end. He was the very proud owner of S&R Refuse (the business he and Sandra started in 1967), his kids, his wife, and his yard. And he LOVED driving in the garbage truck and talking to his customers. He enjoyed being a Grandpa and attending sporting events. He was unique, funny, and goofy, too. “That’s just Bobber,” was spoken often. He always supported and filmed his kid’s sporting events. Numerous times he came straight from work in the garbage truck – but always there. He loved mowing lawn, moving dumpsters, going to the lake, taking Champ for walks, and his time with his brother in law and best friend, Rob Caldwell. He didn’t like to sleep much because he was always afraid he’d miss something. Unfortunately, Bob struggled with a myriad of mental health issues for the past 15 years. Things were difficult. His life was like a yo-yo. He spent the last 4 years under the incredible care of the staff at Maplecrest Assisted Living in Bucyrus. Words cannot express what the staff there means to us.
There will be private services per the family’s request. Memorials may be made to Maple Crest Assisted Living in Bucyrus, please put in the memo line “Bob Redman Staff Bonus Account” or to the Good Hope Lutheran Church. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com.
