Jean A. Geary, 74, of Galion, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Avita Galion Hospital.
Born December 2, 1946, in Fredericktown, Ohio, she was the daughter of John Diehl and Phyllis (Wheatcraft) Diehl. She married David B. Geary, Sr. on November 1, 1966, and he survives.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1965. She was employed at the Galion Community Center YMCA and was very proud of all the swimming lessons that she taught there. She was a former member of Blooming Grove United Methodist Church. Jean was active in 4H and the Morrow County Junior Fair Board enjoyed going to auctions, antiques and was an antique appraiser. She was also known for her quilting, sewing, and her great cooking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, David (Tammie) Geary, Jr. of Wakeman, Michael (Elizabeth) Geary of Lorain, and Tim (Kathy) Geary of Spring Hill, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Collin Geary, Leona Geary, Curt (Michaela) Geary, Griffin Geary, and Matthew Geary; a sister, Judy (Geral) Dyer of Galion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Diehl, and an infant sister, Lois Diehl.
The family will celebrate Jean’s life at a private family service.
