Susan Kay Hutchinson, 66 of Sulphur Springs, OH passed away Monday at Willard Hospital in Willard, OH. Susan was born October 5, 1954, in Findlay, OH to the late Joseph Yoder and Lucyanna (Reitenour) Townsend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepfather Russ Townsend and sister Kathleen Yoder.
Susan was married October 16, 1976, to John Hutchinson who survives along with their children Heather (Justin) Weisbarth of Dayton, Tiffanee Hutchinson, John J. (Rachael) Hutchinson both of Bucyrus & their children Noah and Emma, Danielle Hutchinson of Sulphur Springs, Brittany Hutchinson of New Washington, and Patrick Hutchinson of Galion; half-brother David (Lois) Townsend of Gas City IN, and stepmother Barb Yoder, half-brother Larry Yoder both of Arlington OH and half-sister Tina (Yoder) Dam of Wellington FL.
Susan graduated from Blackford County H.S., Hartford City IN in 1972 and was the first college graduate in her family from the Indiana College of Business & Technology in 1973. Susan & John were introduced by her cousin Craig Reitenour when he & John were in the Navy together. They corresponded with letters for 6 months before finally meeting. During their courtship, she & John enjoyed dancing and driving snowmobiles as well as taking leisurely drives. In the past few years, Susan & John enjoyed attending the races at Attica and the Circle M Ranch reunion in Auburn PA. She moved to this area from Indiana in 1992 and was a homemaker who loved being a mom & “grandma” more than anything. Susan was a very creative person who enjoyed painting ceramics, picture framing, sewing, and macrame, as well as doing Crosswords & Word Searches. She loved coloring, painting & doing craft projects with her grandchildren. She loved animals & leaves behind her beloved cat “Tuttle” and dog “Bow”.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating and burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.
