Gene E. Watson, 71, of Galion passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus after being in declining health.
Born September 12, 1949, in Galion, he was the son of Wayne and Fern (Cameron) Watson. He married Marilyn (Holloway) Watson on December 28, 1970, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1967 and worked as a photographer for 30 years of which 20 years was with United Church Directories in Galion. He was also a Life Insurance agent and has spent the last three years driving semi-truck with his son. Gene attended Faith Baptist Church in Ontario, enjoyed woodworking, electronics, photography, was hard working, always doing something, and especially enjoyed spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael Watson of Galion Mark (Gina) Watson of Mansfield; grandchildren, Rion Watson of Crestline and Mikayleigh Shoemaker of Galion and great-grandson, Zyann.
In addition to his parents and he was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Douglas, five brothers, and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, with Pastor Dave Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
