Theresa Dudley, 97, of Galion passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Magnolia Terrace in Galion where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Born August 1, 1923, in Crestline, she was the daughter of Charles and Frances (Kurtzman) Gerster. She married Howard M. Dudley on October 23, 1955, and he preceded her on January 21, 2013.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Theresa worked as a bookkeeper at the Galion Inquirer and for her husband’s shoe store, the former J & H Shoe Shoppe.

Theresa was very creative and liked to entertain people with a joke. She enjoyed sewing and shopping and devoted most of her time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter Kimberly Furr of Pensacola, Florida; granddaughters Monique (Jesse) Delaney of Bucyrus and Bianca (Mike Garrison) Furr of Galion; grandsons Mario Torres and Joey Smolko, both of Pensacola, Florida; seven great-grandchildren Paige, Kaydance, Brooklyn, Kiley, Tabitha, Chloe, and Mila; brother Norman Gerster, of Crestline and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Helen Gira and five brothers Vince, Howard, Charles, Elmer, and Paul Gerster.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
