Margaret “Peg” Flowers Lust, 93, of Galion passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.
Born October 15, 1927 in Galion, she was the daughter of Ralph W. and Mildred (Ford) Sipes. She married Robert L. Flowers on August 3, 1945 and he preceded her on December 24, 2000. She then married Steve Lust on June 27, 2004 and he preceded her on June 24, 2014.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1945 and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Peg was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Warpole Chapter 366 of Upper Sandusky, Daughters of American Revolution and former member of Galion Country Club. She enjoyed reading and loved to travel, her favorite trip being when she went to the Greek Islands in the 1970’s. Peg was a very social person with many friends that she was close to throughout her life.
She was a faithful follower of Christ her entire life, always had a positive attitude, had a sharp memory and was a great influence to her large and Christian family. Until last month she would lovingly call each member of her family of 48 people (she could recite everybody’s birthday!) to sing “Happy Birthday” to them. In good spirits and encouraging to the end, when asked how she was doing she would respond “Wonderful, how are you?” To know her was to love her. Peg will be missed by many until we all meet again.
She is survived by children Jeff (Karen) Flowers of Galion, Nancy (Rick) Shaw of Ontario, Diana (Gary) Garver of Galion and Polly (Dale) Baumann of Galion; grandchildren Wendy (Glenn) Schaal, Kristy Garver, Rob (Darcy) Flowers, Alison (Jeromy) Bolen, Marcy (Rob) Roth, Beau (Susan) Shaw, Jeanie (Neal) Rinehart and Sarah (Brady) Wegesin; great grandchildren Jeff, Aaron and Daniel Renner, Nick and Ashley Flowers, Robey, Moe and Zanna Bolen, Max and Owen Roth, Claire and Oliver Shaw, Ben, Jack, Will and Kathryn Rinehart and Sam, Maddie and Maria Wegesin and great great grandchildren Marley Grassick and Gabe and Michael Renner.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by brother Dick Sipes; sister-in-law Ginny Sipes; great grandson Colin Grassick; great-great grandson Solomon Grassick; in laws Rolly and Betty Flowers, Dick and Bernie Flowers and Maurice and Betty Jean Mitchell.
Private services will be held for the family. A public memorial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Ontario United Methodist Church or Grace Point.
