BUCYRUS—Bucyrus Mayor Jeff Reser has announced that there is help on the way for small businesses in Bucyrus through the CARES Act.
He said in a press release on Tuesday that the Crawford County Commissioners will be distributing $400,000 in CARES Act funds to the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce for distribution to local small businesses.
“The Chamber of Commerce will be in charge of the application process and distribution of funds. We are grateful to our Commissioners and to the Chamber for the concern shown for the well-being of our Small Business Community,” said Reser.
He noted that the funding will be a benefit to many small businesses who are feeling the effects of COVID-19, especially as we enter the slower winter months.
“This funding, in addition to the recent $10,000 grants from the State of Ohio, as well as the anticipated BWC refunds, show how important the survival of our business community is to the City of Bucyrus, to Crawford County and to our state,” said Reser. “Thank you to all who played an important role in securing the funding. Thank you to our Small Businesses for investing in Bucyrus.”
