The Bucyrus City Council met on Thursday for their Joint Regular Committee meeting. The meeting started out with a discussion of the county water line. The City of Bucyrus discussed how to make rates for water and sewer universal for all areas they serve. The proposal is for the city to take over the Crawford county lines.  “ The county wants to get out of the waterline business, they want to get out of the sewer business, and it’s in our best interest to go ahead and take these water and sewer lines, it really helps lock us into a bright future for the city of Bucyrus”, explained Service Committee Chairman, Bruce Truka. The city will have to update their software to be able to read the county’s meters or change the meters.

The council also discussed updating the city lighting by installing brighter bulbs, and zoning options for Bed and Breakfast and home-based businesses.
