GALION—A Marion woman was killed in an accident that occurred on Ohio 598, south of Brandt Road near Galion on Monday.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call in regards to a vehicle crashing into a tree, south of the Dairy Queen on Ohio 598, at 5:19 p.m. The Galion Police and Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene where a blue 2000 GMC Sonoma had struck a tree.
The vehicle was driven by Brenda K. Stover, 61, of Marion, who was alone in the pick-up truck. She was taken by the Galion Fire Department to Galion Community Hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Another vehicle, a teal green 2001 Plymouth Voyager, was involved in the accident. It was driven by Audrey J. Mattox, 63, who was not injured, along with her passenger, a 27-year-old woman. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mattox’s mini-van is considered a non-contact vehicle that was involved in the crash which is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Stover’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Zeger’s Towing Service.
