BUCYRUS—A report of a suicidal man led to a standoff and later to the arrest of a Bucyrus man Wednesday evening.
Officers from the Bucyrus Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Crawford County Special Response Team responded to the 300 block of Iron Street at around 5:30 p.m. regarding a suicidal man who was threatening to shoot officers when they arrived.
According to a report by the Bucyrus Police Department, 911 dispatchers were able to determine that the man did not possess a firearm but was in possession of several knives. The man was later identified as 26-year-old Jeremy Taylor-Clark.
When officers entered the residence, Taylor-Clark wielded a knife and threatened to throw it at them. After tense negotiations, Taylor-Clark, who admitted to using methamphetamine earlier in the day, surrendered peacefully.
Taylor-Clark was arrested on a Morrow County warrant and was taken to Morrow County by Crawford County Sheriff’s deputies.
